CK Connect visits the Scottish Parliament

We arrived in Edinburgh at about 11am, after getting the train from Glasgow.

We decided that a good way to see Edinburgh would be on an open top bus tour.  The tour took us up the Royal Mile, all around the Old Town and the New Town.  It was really good getting to know more about Edinburgh's history and see places we hadn't seen before.

We had a quick lunch then walked to the Parliament.  It was a warm sunny day so we sat outside for a bit,  just chilling next to the water pools.

Before you get into the Parliament building, you have to go through security, which was a bit like going through security at an airport.  Graham thought he might need his passport!

We had a chat with Hayley, an education officer at the Parliament, about the history of the building and what responsibilities it has.

She also gave us some advice on how we can tell politicians about the activities of CK Connect and our feelings about digital inclusion.

We then did a tour of the Parliament.  We went to committee rooms and to the debating chamber. There were no MSPs as the Parliament is in recess for the summer.

Then it was quick walk back to the station, to catch our train back to Glasgow.

It was a really good to find out more about the way the Scottish Parliament works, and to look around the beautiful city of Edinburgh.
