The CKCyber Group from the John Orr Day Service held a fantastic fashion show at the CKUK offices on Tuesday 15th May 2018 to celebrate Learning Disability Week and the Year of Young People.

Keeping It Young

The fashion show was titled 'Keeping It Young' and was a tribute to some of the things that the group felt they enjoyed as young people themselves: fashion, music, dancing and singing. They decided that the event should be a fun inclusive one as that was what kept them young at heart now.

Over 30 people from local organisations attended the show which meant that there was standing room only in the office by the time the show was about to start. The audience clapped and cheered our models as they performed their routines and delighted the audience with remeditions of their favourite songs.

Special Presentation

At the show, a special presentation was made to Wesley Love and the parents of Iain Elliot. Both were nominated by CKUK for SCLD awards and so were presented with certificates of achievement. We here at CKUK are proud of all the people involved in the organisation and would to thank everyone that makes CKUK unique.

Both audience and models were treated to a buffet after the event. It was an excellent way to relax down after the excitement of the show and provide a chance to chat with friends and collegues about all the exciting things happening at CKUK.

Next Year

Plans are bubbling away for next year's celebration events so if you would like to get involved, contact the office with your ideas!
