Rebekah's Ardentinny Adventure

Rebekah tells us about the CKUK peer educators' weekend at the Ardentinny Outdoor Centre

When I went to Ardentinny it made me feel a little nervous.  But I overcame my fear of water.

rebnightwalk.jpgI was happy because I did canoeing, gorge walking, a night walk, team building exercises and first aid.

I don’t normally eat healthily but I did at Ardentinny.  I had salad, chicken, and sandwiches.

I watched everybody coming out their shells, trying new things, like Wesley who had never had a sandwich before! He ate one and liked it!

Shirley Ann was our team leader on the night walk. I thought she was really good at it.

We all admired Graham because whenever he fell, he would always get back up, and pushed himself to finish. We were proud of him.  We encouraged him to finish.

rebpreparescanoe.jpgThe gorge walk was challenging.  We had to walk on the rocks that were slippy and worked as a team to push ourselves to finish.

It was difficult for me because I had a foot injury.  I challenged myself and did it.

In the future, I would like to go back to Ardentinny in a bigger group. We could try other things like abseiling and archery.

The thing I liked best was sitting down round a table with my fellow peer educators, eating and socialising and getting to know them more.

I can't wait to go back!
